This covers playnsc.com, the site Neighborhood Sports Club uses for member accounts, bookings, leagues and memberships. Buying something from our shop at neighborhoodsc.com is covered by the shop's own privacy policy, because that runs on Shopify.
Neighborhood Sports Club is a Delaware corporation at 100 2nd St, Oakland, CA 94607. Questions about anything here go to support@playnsc.com and a human at the club will answer.
What we collect
Only what running the club actually needs:
- Your account. Name, email address, and phone number if you give us one. Every member gets an NSC ID, which is how the front desk finds you.
- Date of birth, where we have it. We use it to know whether a player is a minor, which changes who signs their waiver.
- A mailing address, only if you gave one when you signed up.
- Your waiver. The version you signed, the name you typed, when you signed it, and the IP address and browser your device reported at that moment. That last part is what makes a signed waiver worth anything, so we keep it.
- What you do at the club. Sessions you book, classes and pickup you attend, check-ins at the door, whether you said you are in for a game, and the goals and results from league matches you played in.
- Membership and payments. Which tier you are on and whether it is current. Card numbers never reach us: Stripe takes the payment and we keep only their reference to it.
- A photo, if you upload one to your member card.
- How you sign in. Either the address we email a link to, or, if you use Continue with Google, the account identifier Google gives us along with your name and email address. We ask Google for nothing else. We never see or store your Google password.
What is public
Team pages, player pages and league tables are public, and they show a first name and last initial only. Never an email address, phone number, date of birth or address. Your member photo appears there only while you leave it public, and you can turn that off on your own member page at any time. Where we hold someone as a minor, their photo is private by default.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your information, and we do not give it to anyone for their own advertising. It reaches these companies only because they run part of the club for us:
- Neon and Netlify store the data and serve the site.
- Stripe takes payments and runs membership subscriptions.
- Resend delivers our email, so it handles your address and the message.
- Google, if you choose Continue with Google. Our pages also load a font from Google, which means your browser contacts Google on any page you open here.
- Shopify, where an order from the shop is matched to your NSC record so your purchases and your membership are the same person.
- Slack, where short operational notes go to club staff. These can name a member, for example to say a booking came in.
We also hand information over if the law requires it.
Cookies
Two, both ours, both necessary. One keeps you signed in. The other exists for about ten minutes while a Google sign-in is in progress, and is deleted the moment it finishes. There are no advertising cookies, no analytics, and no tracking pixels on this site, which is why you have never seen a cookie banner here.
Under 18
Children play here, so we hold records for them: a name, a date of birth, their team, and their waiver. A parent or guardian signs that waiver, and where we have a guardian on file, club email about a child goes to the guardian rather than to the child. We keep a child's record to the same standard as everyone else's, and less of it is public. If you are a parent and want to see, correct or remove what we hold about your child, email support@playnsc.com and we will deal with it directly.
How long we keep it
Your account stays while you are part of the club. Signed waivers, payment records and match results we keep after that, because they are the club's own record of what happened and in some cases we are required to. Ask us to close your account and we will remove your contact details and take you off every list.
Your choices
- Change your email address, phone number or photo yourself on your member page.
- Turn your photo off on public pages yourself, in the same place.
- Club emails that go out to a whole league or the whole club carry an unsubscribe link, and it stops all of them. Email about a game you are in, a booking you made or a payment still reaches you, because that is the club talking to you rather than marketing.
- Ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at support@playnsc.com.
- Unlink Google from your account by writing to us, and by removing our access in your Google account settings. The emailed sign-in link keeps working either way.
California residents have specific rights over their personal information, including to know what we hold, to have it deleted, and not to be treated differently for asking. The address above is how to use them.
Changes
When this changes we update the date at the top. If a change matters to you, we will say so by email rather than leave you to notice.
